Meet Laura Kauppinen, Citec’s new Vice President in Business & Corporate Development and
Administration, and Merja Saurus, the new Chief Financial Officer.
Energetic and business-oriented – that is how Citec’s newcomer Laura Kauppinen describes herself. She has been appointed as Vice President and heads the Administration as well as the Business & Corporate Development departments. This means that she leads the way for sales development, HR management, IT, communications and marketing. She is based in Espoo, Finland, and is looking forward to working internationally, especially with India.
“I was born in India, so that kindles my special interest in this country. Thanks to my background in psychology, in my new position I will also focus on developing our ways of working, collaborative models and leadership, so that people can experience success at work, and we can bring more added value to our customers,” Kauppinen explains.
Based on my first experience, we have a lot of top professionals and an exceptional business concept to deliver engineering services locally with global resourcing.
Before Citec, Kauppinen worked for ten years as an Executive Vice President in Administration and Corporate Development at the Maintpartner Group and is not afraid of stepping into new shoes.
“Based on my first experience, we have a lot of top professionals and an exceptional business concept to deliver engineering services locally with global resourcing. I will concentrate on developing further our resource planning and reflect on how we can yet improve our competence base and the quality of our services.”
The guardian of the transaction factory
Quality is also on the mind of Merja Saurus, Citec’s new CFO. She has an extensive experience in various financial management functions, from the manufacturing industry to an engineering office, a travel agency and care service industry. Saurus is responsible for Citec’s accounting, and her mission, among other things, is to harmonise processes and systems to ensure that all transactions are managed efficiently and as automated as possible according to appointed rules, regulations, and corporate policies to enable quality in reporting.
“One part of financial management is like management of a transaction factory. When the processing of the transactions is at a high standard, up-to-date and preferably mostly automated and we follow the right KPI’s, we can base Citec’s business decisions even more firmly on financial data,” Saurus says.
The more collaboration we have, the better the outcome. As cooperation brings possibilities for sharing knowledge and know-how, it simultaneously creates new opportunities to improve the quality of our operations.
Her thirst for new knowledge steers her passionately towards continuous learning and development. She also believes in the power of cooperation.
“The more collaboration we have, the better the outcome. As cooperation brings possibilities for sharing knowledge and know-how, it simultaneously creates new opportunities to improve the quality of our operations. So, in the future, we will spend even more time on teambuilding. That is what we call quality time – literally,” Saurus points out with a smile.
