New Managing Director, Espen Berg, leads Citec Norway into the next chapter.
When Nils-Erik Hannisdal decided to step down as Citec Norway’s Managing Director and as the Director for Citec’s Region Europe, Plant Engineering Norway in August 2018, Espen Berg took up the challenge as his successor. Previously, Berg has worked at Citec as a Senior Project Manager at Plant Engineering Europe. Berg holds extensive experience in all the focus areas within Citec Norway and is, therefore, the perfect choice for the position in Citec’s management.
Berg has made a long career even before joining Citec. He was educated at Oslo College of Engineering and Iowa State University, USA, and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Berg started his career in Aker and worked at Read Process, ABB and Aibel before becoming one of the founders of M7 Offshore, which was sold to Citec in 2013. With his new position, Berg has now taken his career in a new direction. “I feel very honoured to have this opportunity to lead Citec Norway into its next chapter,” Berg says with excitement in his voice.
Although the new job comes with considerable change, Berg will have some time to adapt to the new role. Hannisdal will continue as a Sales Director at Citec, and thus Berg and Hannisdal will work alongside each other during the transition period. “I am happy that Nils-Erik and I can continue to cooperate. My main focus will be to build upon the solid foundations he has laid down and to continue keeping Citec as a great place to work, with satisfied customers and stable growth,” Berg says.

Citec’s CEO Johan Westermarck is happy with the trend of development in Citec Norway and wishes Berg all the best in his new role. “I feel very confident that Espen will continue to develop Citec’s operations in Norway and create growth with strong customer satisfaction. At the same time, I want to thank Nils-Erik for his strong contribution to Citec in Norway. He has done a meaningful job together with his team,” Westermarck praises.
