Dear Reader,
The global engineering service market is undergoing remarkable changes and is estimated to reach almost 900 billion US dollars by the end of 2018. This huge market is shaped by drivers such as global energy investments, EHSQ requirements, engineering outsourcing and a strong increase in renewable energy (especially solar and wind), which puts demands on increased flexibility.
I think that it is important to ask about Citec’s role in these times of change.
We see that many OEMs are now looking for ways to improve efficiency and optimise flexibility through in-house and outsourced engineering operations. This is why the outsourcing trend within the industry continues its strong growth. Outsourcing allows companies to focus on their core businesses and raise cost-efficiency while reducing risk and managing capacity. Our role is to help with this, since outsourcing, for Citec, is core know-how. You can read more about our outsourcing experience in this edition of Attitude on page 20.
It is our job also in the future to provide competence, flexibility and cost efficiency for our customers by partnering in plant engineering, product engineering and technical documentation.
Our cornerstone for the next few years is to continue the hard work towards our goals. It is our job also in the future to provide competence, flexibility and cost efficiency for our customers by partnering in plant engineering, product engineering and technical documentation. Consequently, it is our mission to be a strategic partner to our customers, not just a provider of services. Our value proposition is to shorten our customers’ project time and reduce total project costs, while safely and sustainably maintaining the right quality. We have a strong track-record and processes in place to back these goals. Lately, we have put focus especially on our global delivery model, which is a basic foundation for Citec’s long-term competitiveness within successful engineering. Our niche is well specified as we focus only on our selected industry segments, Energy, Oil and Gas as well as Process and Manufacturing.
In this magazine, we are proud to showcase many of our experts, who are the force behind the change and development. In addition to highlighting our services and personnel, we introduce Johan Westermarck, our CEO, who succeeded Martin Strand in December 2017. The article on Johan, starting on page six, will provide a good glimpse of who he is, what he values as a leader and where he sees Citec’s next steps will take us.
